Nine Points with Livingspace’s Ross Bonetti
At Nine Point, we’re lucky to work with creative and innovative individuals across so many different industries.
Of these individuals, Ross Bonetti, founder and owner of Livingspace, seamlessly combines swag, creativity and business sense.
For over 30 years, Livingspace has been Vancouver’s premier destination for luxury home furnishings. With an eye for design and innate knowledge of the retail industry, Ross and his team help clients curate their homes with high-end quality furniture — combining modern furniture with the comforts of home.
We asked Ross nine questions — ranging from design trends to how he’s getting through Covid times. Get a sense of Ross’ flair by reading below or by checking out Livingspace on Instagram.
Q. 1 —
Tell us about your new favourite design trend
A.— “Design trend” is not a phrase I like to use as I feel our furniture pieces are timeless. Having said that, I am seeing a lot of cured sofas in boucle fabrics in the 2020 collections.
Q. 2 —
Do you have a hero or mentor?
A.— I think Brad Pitt is the coolest man alive and he just happens to be a fan of modern furniture.
Q. 3 —
Tell us your Covid survival tip
A.— Negronis.
Q. 4 —
What’s one thing Covid has made you grateful for?
A.— It gave me time with my family to move into our new home.

Q. 5 — What was a defining moment for you with your company?
A.— It was my first visit in 1988 to the Milan furniture fair. It opened my eyes to the international world of modern design and cemented my design vision for the business.
Q. 6 —
What’s your favourite product in the showroom?
A.— I have many favourites, but right now it is the extra soft bed by Living Divani. It is the perfect island in the middle of a room with the mattress surrounded by a soft platform and asymmetrical headboard.
Q. 7 —
What do you hope 2021 will bring?
A.— A world restart where we have a renewed appreciation of the importance of home and family.
Q. 8 —
Advice you live by?
A.— I have said it before — “Be the person your dog thinks you are.”
Q. 9 —
What’s your superpower? Or tell us a talent you possess that would surprise people?
A.— Treating all people with respect and bonding lifelong friendships.
