Three Cannabis Products We’re Trying this Fall

Three years after legalization, cannabis edibles are growing in popularity, sublinguals have entered the adult-use market, and technologies such as nanoemulsion are changing the onset and offset predictability of ingested cannabis.

New innovations, alongside traditional cannabis products like hashish, are appearing on retail shelves — and we’re here for it. Here are the products and formats we’re most excited about this fall:

Put it on my tab

The expansion of non-smoking cannabis products has attracted a new type of consumer to the market. Non-smoking and wellness-oriented, this customer is intrigued by cannabis, interested to learn more, and might even follow their curiosity towards sampling new products.

The SYNC Wellness Tabs are a perfect fit for this consumer — a discreet experience for wellness warriors. Classed as a cannabis extract (not an edible, as it doesn’t contain sugar), the dissolvable tablet resembles a small mint with a bisect down the middle.

The sublingual tabs each offer 10mg THC, with 10 units in each packet — so, 100mg THC total. Consumption is easy: allow the tab to dissolve under your tongue, then sit back and enjoy onset within 15 to 20 minutes.

Fall infusions

As we creep towards the holiday season, there’s a new wave of celebratory beverages; similarly, we’ve seen fresh alternatives to tried-and-true cannabis.

Just in time for fall, Fuse — a stylish new brand by Emerald Health Therapeutics — launched the effervescent Nano Shots. Available in thirst-quenching flavours of apple, mango and frappe, these 30ml beverage shots each contain 10mg THC.

The single-use shots use nano-emulsion technology — oil sonically dispersed into tiny particles — so there’s no need to shake before consuming. Onset and offset are predictable, with the THC taking effect within 15 minutes of consuming. Whether pouring over ice, mixing into your favourite drink or knocking it back straight, these colourful beauties are ideal for getting cozy.

Hash reborn

The cannabis connoisseur with a refined palate also has reason to be excited. Hash is back, a welcome addition to the legal market, delivering a smooth, aroma-packed experience to discerners who appreciate quality and tradition.

An ancient format of cannabis dating back thousands of years, hash is made from trichomes extracted carefully from cannabis plants. After many years of experimentation, Simply Bare Organic has introduced a new generation of hash: the first Fraser Valley Organic Producers Association (FVOPA) organic certified, premium single-strain pressed hash, available in BC Organic Apple TFE, BC Organic Sour CKS and BC Organic SFV OG Kush. A little chewy, sticky and crumbly, this new age of hash boasts a golden brown exterior and slightly lighter interior bursting with terpenes — a special treat that will make cannabis enthusiasts giddy as they enjoy an elevated experience.

The past 15 months haven’t been easy for any industry, and cannabis is no different. However, despite a tough retail environment with many challenges, new cannabis products and formats have us excited for innovations to come. You heard it here first: the future is green.
